This term refers to ability to find out a large amount of information about either friends or friends of friends through Facebook, MySpace, Twitter or other social networks without actually needing to talk to them. The result is an almost creepy stalking effect. Often used like smell ya later as a subsitute for goodbye to a facebook friend you've not spoken to in a while.
