Slang used while referring to going to have a drink down the pub. Most commonly used in the North East of England. Due to it being originally derived from people who drink/drank the ex-Newcastle brewed alchohol, Newcastle Brown Ale. The sentance itself is actually printed on the label of the newer bottles of Newcastle Brown.
