1. A system of government, truly belonging to neither right nor left, marked by centralization and growth of power under a dictatorship (often of the majority) that purports to advocate increasing economic equality through force, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror, disarmament and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent political correctness, mediocracy and newspeak. 2. A political philosophy, movement, procedure or practice based, advocating or attempting to advance such a system of government. 3. Oppressive, dictatorial control.
