Miroslav Šatan (born October 22, 1974 in Jacovce, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak professional ice hockey right winger who, as of the 2009 season, is an unrestricted free agent in the National Hockey League. He was drafted in 1993 by the Edmonton Oilers, but had his greatest success with the Buffalo Sabres. The last NHL team for whom he sKated was the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008. The proper Slovak pronunciation of his surname is "SHAH-tahn."
