A band that falls under many different generes of music but calls itself Punk Rock, much to the chagrin of many people who believe that punk rock can be so easily defined as anything that Green Day is not. This band also is subject to much argument, especially between its early fans and its rencent fans. Its albums include "Slappy," "Dookie," "Insomniac", "Nimrod", "Warning", "American Idiot", and "21st Century Breakdown". Its most recent albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, have expanded Green Day's fandom to a wider range the their previous albums, causing many hardline punk rock proponents to call green day "sellouts," and many of its former fand to call them pop rock, due to their constantly changing music type. In short: Green Day is a good band that falls prey to media and fan hypocrisy
