A pop god is a music and performing artist covering the whole extent of the pop genre whose talent, image and charisma have reached massive global influence and iconic status, whether in art or in other aspects of life. The title describes an artist who is not only critically acclaimed, multi-awarded with chart-topping record sales, but also whose works have inspired generations of artists, or any other person, beyond his/her lifetime. The title is exclusive to such artists whose presence is particularly met with mass hysteria from people the world over, at an extended span of their career. Pop gods are modern day music deities whose artistic legacies are imprinted beyond pop culture and beyond their physical mortality.
