A name given to a child by a parent who didn't know the traditional spelling (or chose to disregard it). For example, "Antwon" for "Antoine" or "Stefany" for "Stephanie." Most typically associated with the uneducated, but is also seen with new-agey types who decide thier kids should have a 'unique' name. (can also be used as a verb, meaning to give a child such a name)
