A noob is a person who lacks skill or competence, in gaming or otherwise. They are not to be confused with the term 'newb', which is someone who is simply new to something and willing to learn more about it. A noob is so convinced that they know absolutely everything about 'insert game here' that they begin typing in near-illegible sentences, commonly known as 'leetspeak'.
