The last day of the school week for kids and work week for a lot of people with jobs. Of course, a lot on people still have to work of the weekends, so to them the day only exists to rub in the fact that they have to work on the weekends. Also, bums like me who don't go to school or work don't care about Friday at all, it's just another day of the week for us to lay around the house.
