Finger picking is a technique that can be used when playing the gutiar. Instead of using a guitar pick, you use your fingers to pluck the strings. ..and if you understand some music terminology: As there is only a treble cleff for guitar notation UNLESS it is a bass guitar, when using the finger picking technique you can 'imitate' bass AND treble because you can pluck more than one string at a time. You can then play a song with rhythm and melody, as opposed to what you would usually be restricted to playing with a regular guitar pick (chords, and solos).
