The theory used to explain any time continuity error in movies, television shows, or any other form of media. It is based off of the popular television show Dragon Ball Z in which the character Trunk's travels back in time to change his present but instead creates a divering time line or an alternate history. It thus gives plausibility to the movies which greatly differ from the television show. The Trunks effect can also be applied to any television show.
