n. a junior associate in law firm whom others have deemed as being the expert on a given subject matter or area of law simply by virtue of having performed some research on the matter or small aspect thereof, which may have also resulted in a written memo. Usually results in the newly-minted "expert" being given more assignments on the same subject matter, with the expectation that they will be easy tasks for the guru.
