Although this term is usually associated with the Irish slang for a lie (or similar), it also has it's own meaning in the drug world. Sham was also the term used for marijuana, dipped in embalming fluid. The resulting product gave a hallucinogenic effect as in addition to those more commonly associated with "grass". This product was common in the late 70's and early 80's before the rise of crack cocaine.
