When a girlfriend or wife gets pregnant and decides (without any input from the male) that she is keeping the baby. A common theme is that the female tells the man that she is taking contraceptives when she knows she is not. Usually done as a way of keeping a relationship going when there have been signs that the partnership may be coming to an end.
