Fingerwigglin' describes a musical phenomenon wherein an alleged musician wiggles his or her fingers and presumes to convince the listener that the sound produced thereby is music. In Jazz, a player who knows a few scales (especially the Pentatonic Blues scale) but has little to no chord knowledge and can't arpeggiate for crap often fills entire sets of tunes with mind-numbing fingerwigglin'.
