One of the Greatest Rock artists of the end of the 20th Century (Especially in the 80's). His songs sound like no one else's, and he is considered to be a 'genre' by himself; his tunes seem to be for the mass market at first, but he actually deals with complex themes in 'Sweet Sixteen', 'Eyes Without a Face'; he even emphasizes society's new view on 80's phenomena such as the 'White Wedding', or the freeing of Sexual practices in 'Flesh For Fantasy'. Even his name is no accident; one of his teachers in England complained that 'Billy is IDLE in class', which he later turned to his advantage under the stage name 'Billy Idol'.
