Electrobilly is a music and aesthetic that draws on the dance music of the 1950s (rockabilly) and contemporary electronic dance music in equal measure. Typically featuring the fast tempos, country-blues intervals, and vocal inflections of rockabilly in combination with booming electronic percussion such as that heard in the techno and jungle genres, electrobilly tends to be dark in tone and subject matter. Early antedecents of electrobilly include Alan Vega and Martin Rev's "Suicide" album, Dean Carter's early electronic 'psychobilly' act, and Funkadelic's more countrified moments.
