Used instead of 'what' or when someone says something you dont really understand or when someone tries to lead you into asking about something they want to talk about. Originated from the MSN smiley of a fox with a question mark next to its head. Another major use is when you catch the end of a sentance and only hear the rudest or strangest bit of the conversation.
