One who prides him or herself on being a cesspool of useless information, and who will often inappropriately throw out random facts in normal conversation to appear more intelligent than they actually are - especially when they are misinformed but overly confident in their knowledge. Often, a guru will ruin a joke by pointing out a flaw in logic or in facts, or will rattle off an excessive amount of information on a topic that nobody really cared about to begin with.
