an amusement park located in hershey, pennsylvania. the main theme of the park pertains to hershey's chocolate. it is located directly next to the main hershey's chocolate factory (one of the rides, the blue cross blue shield monorail, leaves the park boundaries, crosses a road, and takes you through one of the parking lots of the factory before returning to the park). it has a zoo, zooamerica. admission to zooamerica is free when you buy a ticket to hersheypark. hersheypark was originally opened in 1907 by milton hershey as a recreation place for hershey employees, but was later opened to the general public. it is home to some of the greatest roller coasters in north america, including the comet, wildcat, lighning racers, great bear, storm runner, and farenheit, a steel roller coaster that has a 97 degree negative drop and is currently under construction. it will open when the park opens at the end of may 2008. hersheypark is said to have over 2 million visitors every season (late may-early october).
