The mythological belief that before menstruation women all act exactly alike (i.e. all women become evil or irrational). The myth has its roots in reality. Prior to menstruation women may have mood changes due to hormonal imbalance and in reaction to physical discomfort. The myth that all women become other-worldly beings is a result of inherent sexism within society and the male of the species' jealousy of the female's ability to give birth.
