Probably the most misunderstood sport. Characteristics such as agility, strength, coordination, and flexibility are necessary in order to cheerlead. Many people argue that it is not a sport, however, it fits all of the requirements to be defined as a sport. Sport: "A physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively." When a team is entering competition they are given a rule book in which they must follow. Certain moves result in disqualification or loss of points. Anyone that claims cheerleading is not a sport clearly has never attended a cheerleading competition and should probably invest in doing so.
