Precalculus is a mathematics course typically taught in secondary schools and in colleges. Precalculus courses assume a prerequisite knowledge of concepts in intermediate algebra, and is generally designed to prepare students for the study of Calculus. Topics that are typically covered in precalculus are exponential, logarithmic, polynomial, and trigonometric functions as well as complex numbers, polar coordinates, parametric equations, vectors. Topics in trigonometry include trigonometric graphs and identities as well as applications.
