A unique type of off-road motorcycle riding that originated in Baja California, Mexico. The motorcyle rider completes a multi-day/long distance dirt bike ride, taking only a backpack ("Moto"- motorcycle, "Mochila"- backpack in Spanish, or "motorcyle backpacking") their motorcycle, while stopping/staying at different locations each night. Usually, all that is taken with the rider, other than his motorcyle, is money, toiletries, a change of clothes, a jacket and defintely a camera. The rider usually stays in a differnet Mexican town each night and completes a ride of up to 1000 miles over several days.
