You can tell emo kids because they never refer to themselves as emo. they're always 'scene' or something like that. They'll try to talk to you about how emo is the incorrect classification of their culture. They whine and moan about the true origins of emo, etc... This is a dead give away for an emo. Other than that they're really the same as gothics, hardcores, punks or whatever misguided angst filled teenagers filled with hate are calling themselves now. there are no black emos. period.
