Comes from the greek goddess of love "Aphrodite". There are arguably, certain foods, scents, music, drinks, and behaviors which can increase or promote the desire to be sexual and/or sensual. Some people say that "aphrodisiacs" are merely a placebo, because people THINK they will work.
