Chemical formula: C11 H17 O2 N2 S Na Sodium Pentathol (less commonly known as sodium thiopental) is one of the three chemicals used in lethal injection, is used as a truth serum in several states due to the effect it has on your mind, and is the quickest and easiest way to medically induce a coma. Sodium Pentathol was discovered in the early 1930s by Ernest H. Volwiler and Donalee L. Tabern, working for Abbott Laboratories. The term "sodium pentathol" is coined by Abbot Laboratories.
