But since it's creation, there has been hundreds of bad puns spinning off the original. "Why'd the man cross the road?" "I don't know. To get to the other side...?" "Uuuh... no. To get to the hot babe on the other side. Hahahaa." "Shut up fag." ...cross the road? jokes are similar to "yo' mama" jokes in the sense that a few people have mastered the art of telling one, but most only dream of basking the flory of accomplishing that.
