Short for Double Action, describing revolvers that can be fired repeatedly merely by pulling the trigger; this action cocks the hammer, rotates the cylinder to the next available chamber, and fires the round in that chamber, all in one fluid motion. Most DA revolvers can also be fired in SA (Single Action) mode, unless it is a DAO (Double Action Only).
