The shortened version of 924 Gilman Street, a non-profit club in North Berkeley, California. The club was founded in 1986 and it books rock/punk bands, including local ones, that have not been signed to a major label. Gilman is run and opperated by the people who attend and even play at the shows. Gilman was the origin of many of the East Bay's punk bands like Operation Ivy, Isocracy, Dead Kennedys, Green Day, Rancid, and more.
