A dotter is a player of First Person Shooter games who cheats by drawing or gluing a dot or cross on his computer screen to materialize the aim line, thus giving him an unfair advantage with assault and handheld weapons. Dotting can also be used efficiently to exercise the eye to focus on the aim. It can become a handicap with sniper weapons because it partially hides small or distant targets. Dotters get little respect from other players and instantly become classified as noobs.
