Donald Miller, in his book, Searching For God Knows What, uses this term to describe 'wish fulfillment.' Clawing for eden, or, as a literary critic (that Miller was watching on CSPAN) said, 'wish fulfillment' was the reason why Harry Potter books sold so well. Miller said that he agrees with the critic but he calls it Clawing For Eden.
