An adjective that originates from the name of one of the principle characters in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The character, Willy Wonka, was a wacky and deranged owner of a chocolate factory. The term was first used in its full form, but has now been shortened simply to 'wonka'. The term is commonly used to describe anything that is bizarre and/or nonsensical. Both a person and thing can be referred to using this adjective.
