The social and discursive process by which certain ideologies, beliefs, or worldviews are labeled as pathological—mentally ill, delusional, or irrational—while others are treated as normal or healthy. Ideopathologization is a power move: it uses the authority of psychology and psychiatry to delegitimize opposing views without engaging their substance. It often targets religious, spiritual, or non-materialist beliefs, framing them as symptoms of mental disorder.
