An aggressive, even malicious form of Adbait. Adtrap apps not only flood the user with ads but also make it nearly impossible to exit or uninstall without jumping through hoops. They may hide the close button, spawn new ads immediately after closing one, or install additional adware. Some adtrap apps mimic system warnings or claim the device is infected, tricking users into clicking more ads. The line between adtrap and malware blurs; the primary purpose is no longer a functional app but a sticky ad delivery system that actively fights user attempts to leave.
