Meaningless, unnewsworthy slop material with no impact on the broader community, passed off as news for an educational assignment or organization. Unlike a news story, which focuses on an action and an impact of that action, linkslop focuses on one person only and what they make. In non-slang, this is typically referred to as a puff piece or a fluff piece. Linkslop has no contribution to you, your friends, your neighbors, or a stranger. The name comes after Ball State University's live newscast, NewsLink Indiana, which excessively (sometimes exclusively) produces linkslop for its programs. Not to be confused with AI slop--unlike AI, linkslop is artisinal, albeit arguably worse as it's from a news source that should be reputable.
