A phenomenon in which light is broken into shifting, dappled patterns as it reflects off the surface of water. The effect occurs due to the reflection of sunlight or artificial light as it passes through rippling water, creating moving, speckled illuminations on nearby surfaces. Other forms: lumering, lumerance.
