The micro season between summer and fall, when it's not quite summer anymore but night quite fall yet either. Often starting around or just before Labor Day and ending when it's cold enough that you have to wear a jacket. In the north this is marked by tomatoes finally ripening and fresh corn season, and when tall grasses are more yellow than green, like hay.
