Begend (noun) A moment that is simultaneously a beginning and an ending; the point where one phase of time closes and another opens, existing briefly in the same instant. A begend is the threshold between past and future, where the end of something becomes the start of something else. Origin: The word was coined by musician Matt Martin while writing the song “Begend” with the band Stilts from the album Sideways. The word emerged from a slurred blending of “beginning” and “end” during an altered perception of time, where moments felt like still images passing between past and future.
