Hap-tic Ghost-ing /ˈhap-tik ˈɡō-stiŋ/ noun The unsettling sensation of feeling a phone vibration, tap, or buzz that never actually happened—usually right after you’ve been ignored, left on read, or cut off emotionally. Often blamed on anxiety, anticipation, or the modern brain being permanently on “notification watch.” Symptoms may include: checking your phone repeatedly, swearing it vibrated, and mild embarrassment when you realize it didn’t.
