Hagioscension is a Christian term for the final event when Jesus returns, the dead in Christ are raised, and the living believers are gathered up and transformed together. Hagioscension is the upgathering and is a term intended to replace the word “rapture" as a response to the pre-tribulation rapture misconception. Etymology: Hagios (Greek: holy, set-apart, saint) ascension (rising, going up) Hagioscension literally: “the ascent of the holy ones.”
