The generation of people born between the years 2010 and 2024. Successive to Gen Z, which ends in 2009, and preceding Gen Beta, which starts in 2025. Gen Alpha is currently divided into these cohorts: Zalphas - 2010-2012: It is a misconception that this group is part of Gen Z; they are, in fact, the earliest cohort of Gen Alpha. Called Zalphas as they blur the line between Gen Z and Gen Alpha, possessing traits and cultural elements from both Gen Z and Gen Alpha. They are outliers who don't truly belong in either generation, much like the Zilennials (1997-1999) before them. Most Zalphas currently insist that they are "Gen Z" due to the popularization of 2012 as the end year of Gen Z. Zalphas can claim to be 2010s kids. Early Gen Alpha - 2013-2015: The early cohort of the Gen Alpha years. Last ones born to experience COVID in school, and last ones to possess memories before the pandemic. These are the last "2010s kids". Middle/Core Gen Alpha - 2016-2019: The center of Gen Alpha, considered most representative of the generation as a whole. Childhood dominated by TikTok brainrot, don't know any life before the pandemic, etc. Late Gen Alpha - 2020-2023: Approaching the end of Gen Alpha. Cultural moments are undefined for them. The end year for Late Gen Alpha may end up anywhere from 2022-2025. Alphetas? - 2023-2025?: It is still unknown if an outlier cohort between Gen Alpha and Gen Beta will end up existing, and where their years may fall.
