On June 7th, 2024, the British singer Charli XCX debuted her 6th studio album titled ‘BRAT’. Prior to this release 3 singles from the album ‘Von dutch’, ‘Apple’ and ‘360’ were released. The album took off because of social media. It features production by Charli XCX, her longtime executive producer A. G. Cook, Finn Keane, Cirkut, her partner George Daniel, and others. The album draws influence from the 2000s English rave music scene, with a more aggressive club sound than her previous album, Crash (2022). Following brat and it’s commercial success, Charli went on tour, claiming an entire summer. She also went on to perform at the following Coachella Music Festival. Because of this, Brat became a word to define a girl who frequently parties and does lines of cocaine. Charli has expressed interest and disdain to the term, and the success in general. Some examples of this being her saying brat summer is over in a tiktok, and her saying ‘I wish this moment would last forever’ on her screens during her Coachella set.
