A person who uses words to gain notoriety and income. Common attributes of the word paparazzi, who self-identify as journalists, are using sensationalism, half-truths, falsehoods and mischaracterizations, to promote a certain viewpoint or agenda. Word paparazzi are often known for their relentless pursuit of political figures and celebrities, often using testimonies from unconfirmed sources or even following target subjects in vehicles to capture personal, unflattering, or private moments. The stories written by word paparazzi are commonly sold to the mainstream media, tabloids, gossip magazines, and websites, where they are published to attract attention and increase sales. This type of invasiveness is often controversial because it can violate the privacy of the subjects involved.
