A situation in which multiple people possess different or incomplete pieces of critical information, causing misunderstandings that stack and compound over time. Each interaction reinforces false assumptions, widening the gap between perceived reality and actual reality. The humor or tension escalates until the missing information is finally revealed, producing a sudden moment of clarity, relief, and emotional release. The term is inspired by the sitcom Three’s Company, where entire plots revolved around cascading misunderstandings driven by missing context.
