The proposition that the true primordial state of existence is not a void of nothingness, but a dynamic, potent "gap" of unresolved potential—a superposition of all possible symmetries and states (from Norse mythology's "yawning void"). In this model, the Big Bang is not the beginning of everything, but the breaking of symmetry within Ginnungagap when its inherent tensions (between the primordial fire of Muspelheim and ice of Niflheim) catalyze a localization. The universe is thus a localized crystallization of order, while most of Ginnungagap remains in its primordial, pre-causal state, implying that "nothingness" is actually the most information-rich, pregnant state of all.
