A near-universal archetype in creation myths reinterpreted as an intuitive grasp of a cosmological medium prior to spacetime. This hypothesis posits that many cultures' "primordial waters" (Nu in Egyptian, Apsu in Mesopotamian, Tehom in Hebrew) describe a pre-geometric, fluid-like substrate from which spacetime itself condenses. In modern terms, this could correspond to the quantum foam, the string theory landscape, or a Bose-Einstein condensate of fundamental fields.
