A Nigerian slang phrase popularized by American artist and creator DDG. A variation of the Nigerian term “maintain,” (meaning to stay composed or carry yourself properly), blended with another Nigerian slang “calm down.” All coming together to mean compose yourself, relax, stay cool, and keep your demeanor in check—especially in situations where emotions, ego, or reactions could escalate. Usage: Often said as advice or a warning to someone who is doing too much, getting too excited, angry, or losing composure.
