psycholence psycholence noun The invisible psychological residue left in a space after an intense emotional, social, or interpersonal event; the mental “air” that still feels heavy, awkward, tense, or charged even after everyone has left. Example: “After the argument ended, the room was thick with psycholence — nobody wanted to sit down.” Alternate sharper definition: The lingering emotional atmosphere caused by unspoken thoughts, suppressed feelings, or unresolved conflict. Example: “The meeting was over, but the psycholence was unbearable.”
