AI Chameleon scam: A modern-day scam where modern day scammers use AI that mimics a person's voice, appearance, or behavior to create convincing fake content. Like a chameleon blending into its environment, an AI chameleon camouflages itself to appear genuine and trustworthy. It can be used in scams, blackmail, and even kidnapping scenarios. Often, it impersonates celebrities—like financial experts or influencers—to promote fake products, such as crypto scams or bogus supplements. This deception is especially effective against the untrained eye, often targeting older individuals who may not be familiar with AI technology, making them more susceptible to these sophisticated scams.
